Dear Parents and Guardians,
As you may know, SAU 6 is participating in a three-year pilot study of school-centered online therapy. Four other NH school districts are also participating. Safe Schools New Hampshire, a NH nonprofit, is leading and funding the pilot study. An independent company is providing the online platform and licensed therapists. This service reduces the waiting period for our students to get an appointment with a licensed therapist from 3-6 months to 7-10 days. This is a significant benefit for our school community and costs the district nothing.

Safe Schools would like to conduct two surveys – one for students and the other for parents and guardians.  The purpose of the surveys (which would be given annually) is to measure awareness and perceptions of mental health issues and resources and determine how they may change over the three year period that students are able to access the counseling service.  The survey has been reviewed and it has been determined that the questions are appropriate and relevant.

This is a non-academic survey, and NH law requires that we give you notice of the proposed student survey. We would want to do that in any event. Below is a link to the student survey There are only 10 questions. The actual survey will be sent to students on Monday, February 2, 2026.  As the survey states, student participation is entirely voluntary, and students may choose not to answer certain questions.  All responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to Safe Schools.

We want you to know that you have the legal right “to be advised of and have the right to opt the minor child out of any non-academic survey or questionnaire.”   If you do not want your minor child to participate in this survey, please advise Ms.Porter  by email; cporter@sau6.org.
