A New Beginning

Dear Claremont Families, Staff, and Community:
It is with great excitement that I begin my tenure as the Superintendent of Claremont Public Schools. I am looking forward to becoming a part of the close-knit, vibrant Claremont community. While we have a lot of hard work ahead of us, I am confident that, by working together, we can provide the best education possible for all of our students.
I am a firm believer that every student deserves a comprehensive, high-quality education. This summer and beyond, we will be implementing new systems in place that will improve teaching and learning in Claremont’s schools. Change can be challenging, but the changes we’re going to make will have lasting benefits.
In the weeks and months ahead leading up to the start of the school year, you will hear a lot from me about people we bring on board, major and minor adjustments to how we do things, and what’s in store for the year ahead.
To begin with, Dave Irvin has agreed to become the new principal at Maple Avenue Elementary.
Since mid-May, Mr. Irwin has been acting as the principal at Maple Avenue. The feedback from students, families, teachers, and staff has been remarkable. Staff members have already shared with me that he listens to everyone and that they feel seen and heard. While we considered several qualified applicants, it became clear that Mr. Irwin is the right person at this time to lead Maple into the future.
This means that we have filled two essential roles: principals at CMS and Maple Avenue. These leaders are essential as we rebuild staffing in the schools and rebuild trust in the Claremont school system.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your community’s schools. I am grateful for your trust, and I look forward to working together on behalf of our students.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tim Broadrick
